At work the other day I noticed that the plastic cups for mineral water looked like tiny, tiny lamp shades. I brought home a bunch of them and started the transformation using glue and fabric.
To create a template to use when cutting out the fabric to glue on the plastic cup, place it on a sheet of paper and draw along the top and bottom while rolling it across the paper.
To create a template to use when cutting out the fabric to glue on the plastic cup, place it on a sheet of paper and draw along the top and bottom while rolling it across the paper.
Cut the fabric using the template you just created. I had 16 cups so I cut out 16 pieces of fabric.
Limma tygbitarna runt muggarna.
Glue the fabric onto the cup. Cut a cross at the bottom of the cup so you can slip the lampshades onto the lamps. I use a string with ordinary lights and have had them on for hours with out the cups melting. But if you are worried, use LED-lights.

Is there a way I can get the instructions in English?
SvaraRaderaHi krizia!
RaderaI hope you can use the google translation bar up in the right corner. I know the translations can be quit goofy sometimes but I think you will understand, or else feel free to ask. If there is a problem with the translator, this blog has posted it with a translation:

Hi! This is so cute for any time of year! Can you tell me how you attached the cups to the lights? It looks like an "x" out of something?? Thank you!
SvaraRaderaHi there! I cut a cross in the bottom of the plastic cup and then attached it to the lights. Good luck!
RaderaVery cute!! Does the cup melt when it gets hot at all?
SvaraRaderaHello there and thank you! No, the cup does not melt at all, and I do not even use led-lights. They have been on for hours in my kitchen, but if you are still worried you should use led-lights. Good luck!

SvaraRaderaI just love these fabrics. I've been looking for some red and turquoise. Could you share with me where you found them or who makes them. I would much appreciate any information you can share on these fabrics.....specifically the large piece hanging in the background and the red/white/turqouise one. Thank you.
SvaraRaderaHi there! The fabrics are from the Swedish/Danish web shop Stoff & Stil: http://www.stoffochstil.se/
RaderaThe fabrics I used in this tutorial are 2-3 years old but they have lots of other beautiful fabrics in the same style, though I don't know if they ship outside Sweden/Denmark. Good luck!

SvaraRaderai will follow you ;)

Hi there!thanks so much for sharing this..its lovely and cant wait to try them out myself! I was just wondering Can I maybe use printed colour paper instead of fabric?
SvaraRaderaThanks!
I think that would work just fine.
RaderaThank you, great idea !
SvaraRaderaExcellent and so easy. Good idea.
SvaraRaderaThis is most awesome and my daycare kids would love this in their play area. Thank you for teaching and thank you for the english version.
SvaraRaderaBlessings!!
Thankyou so much for this great tutorial. Wonderful idea! I have just finished mine and they look lovely (if I do say so myself). I used thicker plastic cups (plastic spirit glasses) and melted a hole in the top using some steel bar which I heated up at work (though could do it at home with a blowtorch and the end of a bolt or something) sot hey are really sturdy and were easy to cover with the fabric. I put elastic bands on the bulb holders (once the cups were over them) to stop the bulbs from slipping out of the holes. I am going to try these next time with thick papers and use my embossing punch to put 3D butterflies and dragonflies in the paper first. Thanks so much for sharing this blog! Amy xx
SvaraRaderaThanks for the great pictures and the nice tutorial! This is my version, if you would like to take a look: http://eurefotografin.de/diy-suesse-becherchen-lichterkette-mini-fabric-lamps-garland/
SvaraRaderaI love these little lanterns. I have a thing about miniature things and a thing about lampshades. Thank you for translating into English, as well!!!!
SvaraRaderaThese are lovely! Do you think this would work if I used scrapbooking paper rather than fabric to cover my cups? I have a large stash of that, and would like to use it; I think the lights we have are LED.

SvaraRaderaHELLO GET OUT OF FINANCIAL MESS WITH THE HELP OF drbenjaminfinance@gmail.com
SvaraRaderaI have been in financial mess for the past months, I’m a single mum with kids to look after. My name is REBECCA MICHAELSON, and am from Ridley Park, Pennsylvania. A couple of weeks ago My friend visited me and along our discussion she told me about DR BENJAMIN OWEN FINANCE of (drbenjaminfinance@gmail.com); that he can help me out of my financial situation, I never believed cause I have spend so much money on different loan lenders who did nothing other than running away with my money. She advised, I gave it a try because she and some of her colleagues were rescued too by this Godsent lender with loans to revive their dying businesses and paying off bills. so I mailed him and explain all about my financial situation and therefore took me through the loan process which was very brief and easy. After that my loan application worth $278,000.00USD was granted, all i did was to follow the processing and be cooperative and today I am a proud business owner sharing the testimony of God-sent Lender. You can as well reach him through the Company WhatsApp +19292227023 Email drbenjaminfinance@gmail.com
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
