DIY: Smyckeshängare * Jewelry Board

Mina halsband, armband och andra smycken har länge legat och drällt på alla möjliga ställen i huset: på badrummet, i garderoben, i köket... Och det är ju lite tråkigt eftersom många smycken är vackra i sig och därför fina att visa upp.

All my necklaces, bracelets and other jewelry have been lying all around the house for far to long: in the bathroom, in the wardrobe, in the kitchen... And that's a bit sad since most jewelry is beautiful and deserves to be displayed.

 Jag gjorde min smyckeshängare av en bit drivved och några vackra pinnar som jag plockade i skogsbacken bakom vårt hus.

I made my jewelry board from a piece of driftwood and some pretty sticks I found in the hurst behind our house.

Jag målade pinnarna med täckande vattenfärger. Först hade jag tänkt hålla mig strikt till vissa färger men det gick förstås inte. Istället blev det hela regnbågen. Jag lämnade dock ganska mycket av den råa naturliga träytan kvar, som blir en vacker kontrast till de starka färgerna.

I painted the sticks with water colours. At first I had an idea about just using a limited number of colours but of course I couldn't stick to that plan. Instead the whole rainbow got represented but I saved a lot of the raw natural wood too, and it makes a beautiful contrast to all the colours.

Sen borrade jag hål i brädan, täljde till mina pinnar så att de passade i hålen och limmade med trälim.

I drilled holes in the driftwood and carved the sticks so they would fit in the holes. Then I used wood glue to make them stick.
